Welcome to Sheffield Oratorio Chorus
We welcome new members in all voice parts.
The first step is to come along to a few rehearsals to see if the choir is right for you. After that you will be asked to undertake an informal voice assessment with our vocal coach. This is a supportive session that can help you improve your singing technique.
Do I need choral experience?
You’ll probably find it easier at first if you have previous choral experience but it is by no means essential. An enthusiasm for singing and ability to learn the music is more important.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings between 7:30 and 9:30pm during term time. We take a short break at Christmas and Easter and a longer break in the summer.
As well as perfecting our concert repertoire, our rehearsals include social time with drinks and cake where you can get to know other members of the choir.
